EQA is a New Orleans nonprofit with the mission of providing struggling students with the skills, confidence and experiences to succeed in the education and career paths of their choice. The organization runs three alternative high schools: The NET: Central City, The NET: Gentilly, and The NET: East for students who have dropped out of, been expelled from, or who have otherwise struggled in a traditional school setting.  EQA also operates a therapeutic middle school program, The Bridge.  EQA programs are built on the belief that alternative schools should not punish or “fix” young people; they should be vibrant, flexible, and restorative environments that support students in being their best selves.

Position Summary

This position is a unique opportunity to help build the school you believe struggling students in New Orleans deserve. You will often be a student’s first point of contact for The NET so your impact is significant.

 

The Data & Enrollment Coordinator is responsible for:

 

Data Management

  • Managing all student demographic information for state, local, and internal reporting
  • Maintaining accurate data in all data systems, including student information (PowerSchool) and behavior management (Kickboard) systems
  • Procuring and updating transcripts, credits, and historical grades to PowerSchool and STS
  • Preparing and processing progress reports, report cards, and other mailings
  • Responding to LDOE and other data audit and report requests
  • Supporting other data projects and tasks as assigned
 

Enrollment

  • Enrolling new students, obtaining records, and coordinating orientation process
  • Supporting student recruiting to ensure full enrollment
  • Responding to student enrollment inquiries
  • Meeting with families to register and welcome new students
  • Managing NCAP and SchoolForce processes to insure compliance with all NOLA PS policies
  • Supporting school leaders in developing master schedule and scheduling individual students
  • Managing Individual Graduation Plans (IGPs) for students
 

School Test Coordinator

  • Serve as School Test Coordinator for state-mandated testing (including LEAP 2025, LEAP Connect, ACT, ELPS/ELPT)
  • Ensure all tests are administered in accordance with state and local policies for full compliance
  • Manage accurate testing records for all students
  • Develop and lead student test scheduling process
 

Position Requirements:

  • 2-5 years experience managing student enrollment and/or data
  • BA or BS 
  • Demonstrated record of working effectively with at-risk young people
  • Exceptional welcoming and customer service orientation
  • Demonstrated record of excellent organizational skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficient in Excel/Google Sheets and database management; comfortable learning new programs
  • Skilled at prioritizing, effective work planning, and execution of a variety of tasks
  • Very detail oriented, trustworthy, and able to maintain student data confidentiality
  • Flexible, open to change, quick-learning, self-directed, and able to manage in a highly dynamic and fast paced environment
  • Learning mindset dedicated to effectively and innovatively problem solving and constantly improving

Position Details

  • Start Date: May/June 2024
  • Schedule: 40 hours/week Monday-Friday. Hours increase at certain times of the year (like testing). School calendar is year round.
  • Salary: Starting salary range is $55,000-$65,000 commensurate with experience
  • Benefits: Comprehensive benefits and generous 403(b) retirement plan
  • Reports to: Principal and supported by the EQA Director of Data, Enrollment, and Testing
